Mr. A’s Martial Arts Instructors

First things First...

"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival." – C.S. Lewis

Mr. A and Mr. D. Started the school over 25 years ago. The school is an extension of their friendship. They wanted place where others may come to learn and grow in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. Built on friendship, there is a welcoming feeling while growing and stretching yourself. This facility is about people learning martial arts to better their lives.

About James Bret Dunlap

Born and raised in Havertown, Mr. D began his training under the guidance of his father, James Dunlap (a Havertown Police Lieutenant.) He taught his son a blend of Judo, Ju Jitsu, Sumo Wrestling and Tae Kwon Do, mixed with practical tactics derived from his years of experience on the police force. From there, Mr. D trained formally in Northern and Southern Kung Fu, which is when he met Mr. A. After graduating high school, Mr. D and Mr. A found another teacher who taught them Northern Praying Mantis, Southern Six Harmonies, and Yang Tai Chi. Over the years, Mr. D traveled and trained in other styles such as Kali, Cerrada, Wing Chun and American Kenpo. After spending several years consulting and building businesses, Mr. D came back to the school.
